Practice next week will be 8/6, 8/8 & 8/9 from 9-10:15. There is no practice 8/7 due to a scheduled outing at the course.

Golf Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to participate? 

Any 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th graders that has a current physical on file. The 5th & 6th graders will be trying out for a 7th & 8th grade team so we ask that experienced golfers try out for the 5th & 6th grade levels. Any student receiving an F in any subject will be ineligible to participate the week after the grade has been reported. Eligibility will be checked weekly 

How much will being on the Golf team cost? 

An activity fee is built into registration so Golf is not an additional fee to join.

How many kids can make the team?

No more then 24 kids will make the team. Tryouts are determined on driving range and putting scores.

Where and when will practices be held? 

Practices will be held at Inwood Golf Course from 9-10:15 AM Monday through Thursday until School begins then practices will be after school 2:45-4:00pm. 

What transportation will be provided? 

Parents will need to drop their child off at the golf course for practice until school begins. Once school begins the team members will take a bus after school to the golf course, but will need to be picked up after practice. 

What equipment is required to participate? 

Each participant will need golf clubs, golf balls, tees, a collared shirt, and khaki shorts 

Is there a uniform that the golfers must wear? 

Each participant will be provided a polo shirt and must supply their own khaki golf shorts 

What will my student-athlete learn? 

Basic skills such as gripping the club, the swing, chipping, putting, rules and etiquette of the game 

Can my student-athlete also participate in other youth teams as well as Troy Teams? 

Yes. Because the IESA State is only a one weekend tournament, students are allowed to participate in other youth teams and the school team.
